With a total production of 12,224 cars, the Elan is the most successful car ever built by Lotus. To drive an Elan is to discover what real
performance and road holding are like - Lotus style. Following Colin Chapman’s rule “Add a bit of lightness” the Elan is extremely light and agile, carrying a glass fibre body over a central
backbone chassis.
International attention was brought to the Elan due to its starring role in the TV series “The Avengers” 1965-1967, where it was driven by the famous
Diana Rigg alias Emma Peel.
